Update notes:
  • as of 2008,this version is now freeware. Registration is not required.   
  • Due to issues with copyrights, only the snellen optotypes are  are included with this release, but users are able, and encouraged, to create and import thier own optotypes.  For international, or non standard use, this version can import optotypes created from standard .jpg images.  
  • As requested by some users, a 20/25 acuity line has been added to support  industry starndard requirements.
  • Please expect a Java based internet browser application (also freeware) to be available sometime in the summer of 2008.  This project will use new graphics technology (and make use of my  development experience in the last 5 years) to deliver a more professional, up to date product which will support :
    • internationalization
    • larger screen resolutions
    • web enablement / local area networks
    • Java graphics and animations

This pair of vision tests can be utilized to  gauge color vision and visual acuity.  The tests are easily administered, and can be a quick way to detect issues with vision. 

Applications:
For parents, this may help track visual acuity with your children.
For teachers, this may help in deciding  where to seat students in your classes.
For remote locations where no other means of vision testing are available
For employers where color vision / visual acuity is a consideration for workplace safety/performance

Please note: regardless of the results obtained form these tests,  regular visits to an optometrist are strongly recommended
